Ephemeral

For you- I am
the rainbow’s grace
you wish to see after the rain
like hopeful signs- your world’s delight
Yet nothing but, an ephemeral sight.

You’ve said- I am the gentle breeze
a touch in passing, felt but unseen-
a lightning’s kiss sent in a flash
a dream before awakening.

Maybe I am- but a
seeker of light destined to
weave these untold rhymes- the
keeper of unspoken lines.

And, I have known
that dreams are just dreams, and
that wishes are tales, like thoughts-
never ending.

seems wistful almost, as if in hearing the words and knowing the want you can't really believe they are anything more than passing wishes or sweet dreams.
